IBTABA Nº 3 — Bill Callahan (Smog)

Bill Callahan (aka (smog) )
at The Independent, San Francisco, CA [ 29.Aug.2005 ]

a very memorable gig, because this was the rare instance where the album songs were much better live, than on the record. « A River Ain’t Too Much To Love » was a much quiet affair on record than live, perhaps propelled in great part by the live performance of the drummer Jim White (from Dirty Three), who also played on the record. luckily, I caught the show in Los Angeles as well, but that one was not photographed, reverting to the now-weaning habit of doing a live recording— which I proceeded to play instead of the album.
